The runways and most of the dispersal area has been omitted, they were to the left of the drawing.
No date was shown on the original, but I believe it would be about 1950.

EL KIRSH.
  photo  
El Kirsh, a fortified compound ringed by barbed wire, where a number of British families lived through the "troubles".
Here the Army guarded 50,000 tons of emergency food.  Unfortunately we have no key as to what the buildings are.

This aerial view of El Kirsh was supplied by Anne Ammundsen who lived there for a while when a child in the Zone.

This photo of GHQ, Fayid was printed in a newspaper over fifty years ago and was sent to me by Dan Muir, ex R.E. att J.I.B. 1954.
The caption reads: "The bleak, parched camp of Fayid to which Headquarters of Middle East Land Forces moved after World War Two."
